SGL at a Glance
Sabarmati Gas is a joint venture with BPCL, set up in 2006, for the development of city gas distribution networks in north Gujarat. We hold a 11.2% equity interest and our subsidiary, GSPL holds a 13.7% equity interest in Sabarmati Gas, BPCL holds a 25.0% equity interest, other institutional investors collectively hold a 49.8% equity interest and certain senior members of our and BPCL’s management hold the remaining fractional shareholding in Sabarmati Gas. Sabarmati Gas has established 15 CNG stations as of December 31, 2010, and intends to set up an additional 21 CNG stations by the financial year 2014 and commission approximately 465 kilometres of steel pipeline network by the end of the financial year 2014. As of December 31, 2010 Sabarmati Gas had 39,235 (153 industrial customers, 38,882 domestic customers and 200 commercial customers) customers. Sabarmati Gas has commenced gas distribution in Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha and Mehsana with current sales of 0.85 mmscmd for the three months ended December 31, 2010.
For the nine months ended December 31, 2010 Sabarmati Gas Ltd had revenues of Rs.3197 million, and profit after tax of Rs. 240 million.
